Open Space and Recreation Plan Project
Preservation and enhancement of natural open spaces for passive and active recreation is critical to maintaining a high quality of life in Wakefield. These areas encourage community gathering to support holistic well-being, a sense of belonging, enhanced community social connections, along with opportunities for fun.
The draft OSRP is informed by previous resident input gathered during the public workshop on April 27, 2023, and a community survey (view the survey results). An additional public workshop was held on January 18, 2024.
The OSRP helps the Town:
- Maintain and enhance benefits of open space and recreation resources.
- Guide policy decisions for open space, natural resources, and recreational issues.
- Support efforts to acquire funding.
