Youth Engagement
Employment
Young adults can visit the job opportunities page to check in on employment as it is posted. Examples of employment includes the following:
- Wakefield Recreation offers jobs such as camp counselor and referee throughout the Summer months
- Work during the school year or in the Summer assisting Wakefield Academy as needed
- The Beebe Library regularly provides work as a shelver
- Become a Summer Help with the Department of Public Works in Wakefield
Leadership
Develop into a young leader of Wakefield with either of the organizations below:
- The Wakefield Youth Council is a platform for Wakefield Residents ages 13-18 to serve as youth leaders empowered to share policy ideas and youth comment in the community
- The Wakefield Youth Action Team is a group of diverse teens whose main goals, along with their community partners, is to promote and sustain a positive and healthy future for Wakefield as a whole
