The DPW is in the process of replacing and installing water meters and remote reading devices throughout Wakefield. These meters ensure residents receive actual meter readings, not estimates, every 90 days. The contractor hired by the Town is Thielsch Engineering from Cranston, Rhode Island. USI Services is coordinating the replacement program on behalf of Thielsch Engineering. All installers will have uniforms, photo ID badges, and will be driving marked vehicles.
If you receive a card from Thielsch Engineering / USI Services, please call 1-888-709-9944 to arrange an appointment. The installation should take about 45 minutes to complete. There is no charge for a standard installation of a residential water meter.
Should you have a questions regarding the replacement program, please do not hesitate to contact the DPW at (781) 246-6301.
