Town Election April 27, 2021

The Annual Town Election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 2021.  Wakefield residents can vote at the Galvin Middle School, located at 525 Main Street, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Knowing your precinct allows for a quicker check-in. Residents can easily lookup their precincts using this online tool.  View a sample ballot here.

Voting by mail has been extended by state law and is an option for this election. To obtain a vote-by-mail ballot, please return this Vote-by-Mail Application by April 21. Applications can be submitted by mail (Town Clerk’s Office, 1 Lafayette St, Wakefield), email (, or fax (781-246-4155). Applications are also available at our Town Clerk’s office.

In-person early voting is not available for this local election.

Absentee ballots are typically used by military voters on active duty, those with disabilities that keep them from voting at their polling places, and citizens residing outside of the United States. For elections held through June 30, 2021, however, state law has clarified that any person taking precautions relating to COVID-19 qualifies for an absentee ballot by reason of physical disability. Read more about absentee ballots and download an application.

Residents who are not registered to vote have until Wednesday, April 7 to register. Residents can register to vote online or register in person at our Town Clerk’s office in Town Hall.
