Throughout the year, the Council on Aging offers monthly blood pressure and wellness checks, health presentations, and health fairs. Blood pressure checks are provided on the following days:
  • first Thursday of the month from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • second Wednesday of the month from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.
  • third Tuesday of the month from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
  • fourth Wednesday of the month from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.

Medical Equipment for Loan

The Council on Aging has a limited number of durable equipment items for loan on a short- and long-term basis. Please contact the office at 781-245- 3312 to borrow any of the following items:
  • bath chair
  • bed rail
  • cane
  • commode
  • transport chair
  • walker
The Masons offer a more extensive variety of equipment to lend. Contact them at 781-322-1052 or visit their storage center in Woburn at 500 West Cummings Park Suite 1150. The center is open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Independent Living Assistance 

MassOptions is a free resource linking elders, individuals with disabilities, caregivers, and family members to services that help them live independently in the settings of their choice. MassOptions helps individuals avoid the frustration of calling multiple agencies and navigating various networks. 
 
You can contact MassOptions by calling 1-844-422-6277 or chat online at the MassOptions website where a trained specialist will provide referrals to services that best fit your individual needs. The MassOptions call center and online chat are available Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Insurance / SHINE Information

SHINE provides free, unbiased health insurance counseling information and assistance to Massachusetts residents with Medicare, their caregivers, and those approaching Medicare eligibility.
