Selectmen Announce Wakefield Wingo 2018

Selectmen Announce Wakefield Wingo

January 15, 2018 to March 15, 2018

The Board of Selectmen would like to introduce the public to a fun new game to "Experience Wakefield" called Wingo.  Wingo is a Wakefield spin on the classic Bingo-style game with a game board that spans five squares in two directions.  The goal is to fill five squares in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row.  To fill the squares, Wingo players will have various options identified on Wingo game board to "Experience Wakefield."

"This is an exciting opportunity for Wingo players to track their Wakefield activities and see how many things they can do in Town," said Town Administrator Stephen P. Maio.

Wingo activities can be found all over town.  All Wingo activities must occur in Wakefield between January 15, 2018, and March 15, 2018.

Wakefield Wingo is a new game created as a means to support local businesses during the cold winter months. It’s a creative way for residents to band together to “Experience Wakefield” and support our local economy,” stated Board of Selectmen Chairman Paul DiNocco.

To play Wingo, players accomplish one of the activities on the playing card; take a picture and post to their favorite social media account with the hashtag #WakefieldWingo.  Players then can send an e-mail picture of their winning card to wingo@wakefield.ma.us with a list of their 5 corresponding winning Wingo activities with activity date to win up to $1000 cash and prizes.

Wingo cards can be downloaded from the Town of Wakefield website.

Wingo players can also bring their completed cards to the Town Administrators Office at Town Hall in Wakefield.
