Fourth of July Photo Contest

July 2nd thru 11th 2018

Wakefield, Mass. - The Town of Wakefield is excited to announce a Fourth of July photo contest that challenges community members to capture and share images of Independence Day memories, with a focus on community spirit and summertime fun. From July 2 through July 11, 2018, residents can submit photos via e-mail to photos@wakefield.ma.us (up to 3 entries per person) for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local business. Be sure to include your name, phone number, and a brief description of your submission. Three winners will be chosen and announced during the week of July 16, 2018.

“Our community is very patriotic and I am looking forward to seeing the creative summertime displays,” said Wakefield Town Administrator Steve Maio.

What does July 4th "community spirit" mean? Here are a few ideas from Wakefield's own creativity hub, the Albion Cultural Exchange (ACE):

--Festive homes with decorated porches, doors, decks, and yards
--Family gatherings with red, white, and blue clothes, face paintings, and hair styles
--Cook-outs with festive, July 4th-themed dishes, drinks, and decor

Photos will be displayed on the Town of Wakefield website (www.wakefield.ma.us) and Facebook page. Members of the community are encouraged to like and comment on their favorite photos to show support for their friends and neighbors.
