What should I do if there is a dead animal on my property?

A dead wild animal on private property must be collected by the property owner. It is suggested that the individual use gloves, double bag the animal, and place it at the end of the property’s driveway. The Animal Control Officer can dispose of the bagged animal if the resident contacts the Officer for pickup.

If a dead animal is on the street, please contact the Animal Control Officer.

Domestic animals that have a known owner must have arrangements made with the owner’s veterinarian for proper disposal of the pet.

Please note that dead animals are not an emergency and will only be picked up during the hours the officer is on duty.
