LAST YEAR Wakefield High School Senior Chris Morrill lamented the lack of a bike rack at Wakefield High School. After approaching Principal Elinor Freedman about the possibility of the school purchasing one, Morril volunteered to do some research as to the best deal available to meet student needs. What he came up with was beyond anyone’s estimation. After contacting a number of organizations including the Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition, Morril was able to engineer the donation of a slightly scratched bike rack from the Dero Bike Rack Co. in Minneapolis, Minn. for a nominal shipping charge. The rack was recently installed outside of the front door of the school.
