Lake Dredging Update
The dredging of sediment in the Hartshorne Cove area of Lake Quannapowitt is well underway, with the barge continuing to remove the sediment along the bottom of the lake near the shoreline. After extracting the sediment, specialized equipment filters the water to remove any of the contaminated soil.
The impacted area has been cordoned off by a curtain and containment buoys, and a fence has been erected around the parking area at Veterans’ Field. The project is expected to be completed in the next several weeks.
