740 PM Initial Steps in the Procurement of an OPM
- Form a building committee
- Designate a full-time MCPPO-certified employee to oversee procurement and manage the OPM contract
- Identify the Selection Committee for the Procurement of the OPM
- Prepare a request for services for the OPM, using the MSBA Model and contract, to be submitted to the MSBA for review. If available, the request for services should include an estimated project schedule and budget.
- Develop a draft advertisement of OPM services, to be submitted to the MSBA for approval. At a minimum, the advertisement should be published in the Central Register and a newspaper of general circulation in the area where the project is located and should appear at least two weeks before the application deadline. Among the items to be included in the advertisement are:
- A brief description of the project and required scope of services.
- Estimate project cost.
- Date and time of a project site inspection (recommended).
- Owners contact person.
- Response deadline. +
